As an adventure traveler, fine dining is not typically high on your list of things to do while abroad. But in the case of Capital Grille Boston, you should consider putting a bit of money aside to experience their delicious steak dinners and lobster mac and cheese.
“I am not a big fan of fine dining, but I had a great experience here. As someone who loves hole in the wall restaurants, I wasn’t used to the price tag that came with the great food, but I feel it was justified.” – Cindy H, a visitor who left her review on Yelp.
Capital Grille Boston: Setting the Scene
Capital Grille is a steakhouse, seafood restaurant and a wine bar, so if you’re a surf and turf foodie this could place could be heaven.
Capital Grille is a white table cloth kind of establishment. Menus are on ipads, couples celebrating anniversaries get rose petals on their table along with a card and free dessert, and every item that is served, starting with the bread basket, is exciting enough to photograph and gush over.
But before you save up your pennies or clear your credit for a fun night out, here are a few things you need to know:
- It’s pricey…you likely guessed, but you’ll likely have to pay an additional $20 for valet parking and coat check
- Service can be slow, because the place is packed, but also because the servers expect you to take your time and enjoy, so they let you sit and savour before rushing to you with the next menu or service. It’s you’re not too impatient, the wait for wine, dessert and the bill should not deter you from the food!
- And because not all the things to know are negative, you can take unfinished wine home (woo hoo)!
- If you can’t afford a full meal, you are welcome to stop in just for dessert (with no judgement) because the desserts are out of this world.
Is it worth it?
Let’s just ask Capital Grille diner, Tom…
“If this were my last meal, I would die happy,” – Tom K, review from Yelp.
So yeah…I think it’s pretty worth it.
Let’s get real here, Capital Grille Boston may sound like a mini vacation within your Boston vacation, but how much will is actually cost you? A dinner for two, let’s say a couple, with a bottle of wine and dessert, can expect to pay $200 for their evening.
Maybe it’s not the best place to try if you’re just passing by on a Tuesday night, but if you’re visiting Boston for a birthday or other special occasion, the staff will go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your time at Capital Grille.
